Air Force Airman Kayla M. Ward graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.

The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness and basic warfare principles and skills.

She is a daughter of Karen Ward of Charleston.

Ward graduated in 2005 from the Charleston County School of the Arts and received a bachelor’s degree in 2010 from Charleston Southern University.

Navy Petty Officer 3rd Class Caleb P. Lewis, a son of Alison and Phil Lewis of Charleston, recently completed the Navy Nuclear Power Training Unit course with the Nuclear Power Training Unit, Ballston Spa, N.Y.

Lewis received instruction about nuclear theory, chemistry, physics, reactor operations, safety and security.

Upon completion of the course, Lewis was designat-ed as a nuclear power operator.

Coast Guard Seaman Recruit Danielle C. Manigault, a granddaughter of Brenda L. Manigault of Charleston, recently graduated from the Coast Guard Recruit Training Center in Cape May, N.J.

During the eight-week training program, Manigault completed a vigorous training curriculum consisting of academics and practical instruction on water safety and survival, military customs and courtesies, seamanship skills, physical fitness, health and wellness, first aid, firefighting and marksmanship.

Manigault is a 2010 graduate of James Island Charter High School.
