Owner charged after dog attack
The owner of a dog who attacked a woman who was walking along a Johns Island street has been charged, according to the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office.
Garvin Ernest Lee Jr., 54, Traywick Avenue has been charged with allowing an animal at large, Capt. James Brady said. He is scheduled to appear before Magistrate Leroy Linens at 2 p.m. Aug. 15.
One of Lee’s dogs, a pit bull named Woody, attacked Danielle Green, 38, while she was walking on Traywick Road late Thursday night. She was hospitalized for several days and is undergoing treatment for serious wounds to her right arm.
The incident report described the animal as a bulldog, but Brady, the victim and another witness all said Woody is a pit bull.
