STATE REPORT: North Charleston blasts Alabama in Dixie Majors
LAUREL, MISS. — North Charleston pounded out 16 hits to defeat Alabama 12-3 in its first game of the Dixie Majors World Series on Saturday.
Alex Christmas was 3 for 4 and Robert Moody was also 3 for 4 with 2 RBIs. Erik Samples was 2 for 4 and Lawton Hendricks was 2 for 4 with a double and 3 RBIs.
Austin Livingston pitched four innings for the win and Ian Bush pitched three for the save.
West Ashley 10U rolls past Fairview
Geoffrey Gilbert struck out 11 over four innings to lead the West Ashley 10U All-Stars over Fairview, 6-1, Saturday.
Chai Kirshtein was 3-3 with a double for West Ashley. Stephen Holderness pitched two innings for the save.
West Ashley lost to Matthews N.C., 10-7, in the last game of pool play in Matthews. Gilbert was 3 for 3 with a double.
