Ridgeville man arrested for check fraud

European Motorsports & Imports owner Chris Felber was charged with writing more than $200,000 in bad checks.

The Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office arrested and charged Christopher Felber, 23, of Ridgeville, for check fraud linked to his vehicle repair business, European Motorsports and Imports (EMI), spokesman Dan Moon said.

Felber is accused of writing multiple bad checks from EMI, at 144 Howe Hall Road in Goose Creek, including one for $225,000, Moon said.

Felber appeared before a judge twice this week. More charges are expected against him, Moon said.

Felber’s bond has been set at $225,000.
