Coosaw Creek, Crowfield unbeaten in CCAA
The Coosaw Creek and Crowfield swim teams completed the Coastal Carolina Aquatic Association regular season July 3 with the league’s only unbeaten records.
Coosaw Creek, the defending CCAA champion, captured the Red League crown with the Crocodiles (8-0, 6-0 in the league) winning their final meet to extend their consecutive dual-meet victory streak to 27, which spans more than three years.
Coosaw Creek beat out Snee Farm (7-1, 5-1) for the Red League championship. Daniel Island (6-2, 4-2) was third.
Crowfield also went 8-0 overall and had a 6-0 division record to win the Blue League, beating Fort Johnson and James Island, who both went 6-2.
Dunes West went 6-2 (5-1 in the division) to win the White League, beating out co-runners-up Ashborough, Newington, and Sha-Mel-Lon, who each went 4-4, 4-2.
The 22 teams that make up the CCAA are now preparing for the season-ending City Swim Meet, a three-day event that kicks off Sunday and concludes Tuesday at the Jewish Community Center pool in West Ashley.
