Local student receives Yale award
William A. Werrell of Charleston was awarded Yale University’s F. Wilder Bellamy Jr. Memorial Prize for integrity, loyalty and high-spiritedness in athletics, academics and social life.
Werrell was recognized for devoting himself to intramural athletics, assisting with college activities and working in the library. The rising senior was described as having a sunny disposition, charisma and knack for inspiring students to get involved in the college.
He is the son of Judy and Bill Werrell.
