Second man arrested in grisly Richland County deaths
COLUMBIA — A second man has been charged in a grisly double killing in Richland County.
Sheriff Leon Lott said Tuesday that 36-year-old DeAndre Diggs is facing charges including murder, attempted murder, kidnapping and armed robbery.
Lott says Diggs and 27-year-old William Wallace tortured and shot two men in a Columbia apartment late month. The sheriff says the pair also injured a 24-year-old woman, who was able to escape and flag down a motorist for help.
The names of the men who were killed have not been released. Lott says they were tied up and tortured before being shot in the head.
Diggs and Wallace were being held in the Richland County jail, and it wasn’t known if they had attorneys.
