“Fear Factor” (8 p.m., NBC, TV-PG), the summer ick-factor time-waster, returns.
Sea world on “MasterChef” (9 p.m., Fox, TV-14).
Andrew Zimmern’s “Bizarre Foods America” (7 p.m., Travel, TV-PG) kicks off a new season with its 100th episode.
“Hard Times: Lost on Long Island” (9 p.m., HBO) follows the families of four long-unemployed workers as they face dwindling savings and sinking spirits.
“Unsung” (9 p.m., TV One) profiles Con Funk Shun, a group that emerged from Memphis’ Stax Records scene to tour for more than a decade before disbanding. The band’s story also includes the killing of a member under chilling circumstances.
Cult choice
Brad Pitt, Juliette Lewis and David Duchovny star in the 1993 thriller “Kalifornia” (10 p.m., Cinemax).
