Uricchio law firm founder killed in motorcycle wreck Monday night

The coroner identified the driver killed in a Monday night motorcycle wreck as prominent Charleston criminal defense attorney Paul “Ricky” Uricchio (pictured above), founder of Uricchio Law Firm.

A 69-year-old man was killed in a motorcycle wreck late Monday night at Meeting and Jackson streets, Charleston police spokesman Charles Francis said.

The Charleston County coroner has identified the man as prominent Charleston criminal defense attorney Paul “Ricky” Uricchio, founder of Uricchio Law Firm.

The driver reportedly lost control, struck the median and was ejected from the motorcycle.

An ambulance transported him to Medical University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Police recovered a 9 millimeter pistol and a hunting knife from the scene of the crash, according to a report.
