Two Charleston area events for children are combining into one effort that could bring thousands of Lowcountry youths together for physical fitness, exercise and fund-raising.

Wonderfest, sponsored by the Wonder Works toys and education store, is partnering its annual free Wonderfest festival with the Cooper River Bridge children’s run held the day before the main event.

The combined gathering will be in Hampton Park on Friday, April 5, 2013, officials announced today at City Hall.

In addition to the festival and physical fitness aspect, the event will be a fund-raiser for four charities: Hugs for Harper, Happy Wheels, Abby’s Friends and Keys for Hope.
