Woman dies in crash on I-26 in Dorchester County
A North Carolina woman was killed when her car went off Interstate 26 in Dorchester County this morning.
The coroner’s office identified her as Sherry Shuyler, 47, of King, N.C.
She was driving a 2003 four-door Kia heading toward Charleston around mile marker 175 at 4:15 a.m. when she went off the right side of the road, hit a guard rail and overturned, according to Highway Patrol Lance Cpl. Bob Beres.
She was wearing a seatbelt, he said. Three passengers, also wearing seatbelts, were taken to Trident Hospital and Medical University Hospital.
Shuyler died at the scene, Dorchester County Chris Nisbet said.
