“Connoisseurs will stroll through the historic streets of downtown Charleston, making stops at the city’s most prominent galleries, enjoying an array of breathtaking art, and indulging in fine cuisine prepared by Charleston’s circle of prestigious chefs,” says Helena Fox, president of the CFADA.
The gallery/restaurant pairings for 2012’s edition are the Corrigan Gallery and Barsa Tapas, Dog and Horse Fine Art and Circa 1886, Ella W. “The CFADA galleries are so lucky to continue putting on this event to raise money for art scholarships locally,” says Lese Corrigan, owner of the Corrigan Gallery. “We have visitors returning from all over the country.
“It also has become to be a great way for newcomers to Charleston to meet people and try out our restaurants.”
The event is presented as part of the CFADA’s Studio Series, which benefits visual arts programs at the Gibbes Museum of Art, Redux, the College of Charleston and School of the Arts.
The theme for this year’s event is “Southern Art Paired With Southern Food.”
“Each year, we encourage our participating restaurants to use local, seasonal products to prepare their tastings,” adds Fox.
“In addition, the galleries will feature Southern art or artists who will be present at the event.”
In conjunction with the event, special lodging packages for two are available. Visit www.fultonlaneinn.com or call 800-720-2688 for details.
Established in 1999, the CFADA promotes Charleston “as a fine art destination for avid collectors and passionate art enthusiasts and supports the artists of the future.” Since 2004, the organization has donated more than $250,000 to art programs at local art organizations and public high schools.
