Bi-Lo issues immediate recall for 2 salad mixes from all stores
South Carolina-based grocer Bi-Lo today announced a immediate voluntary recall of two store brand products from all stores: Southern Home Bacon Ranch Salad Mix and Southern Home Creamy Parmesan Salad Mix.
According to the Food & Drug Administration, the reason for the recall that the products may contain small metal fragments. The company said it received no reports of any issues with the food products.
The Southern Home Bacon Ranch Salad Mix comes in a 7.5-ounce bag with the UPC code 0788002891 and a sell-by date of oz. May 17, 2013.
The Southern Home Creamy Parmesan Salad Mix come sin a 6.2-ounce bag with the code 0788002892 and sell-by date of April 20, 2013.
“We encourage consumers in possession of any of the recalled items to immediately discard the product or bring it back to their local Bi-Lo,” said Allen Reavis, Bi-Lo’s vice president of grocery.
Customer who can show proof of purchase through a receipt or the packaging label will receive a full refund.
Bi-Lo’s website shows the Mauldin-based chain has 17 supermarkets within 50 miles of Charleston. For more information, call 1-800-862-9293.
