Off-duty Conway officer wounded at his home by burglar

CONWAY — Horry County police say an off-duty Conway police officer has been shot and wounded after he confronted a burglar at the officer’s home.

Horry County police Sgt. Robert Kegler said the officer was shot in the arm. Kegler says the injuries were not life-threatening.

The officer’s name was not released.

Horry County police are investigating but have not released any other details about the suspect.
