The primary season likely will limp to an end in South Carolina Tuesday with runoffs in two congressional races, three legislative races and a handful of county contests.

Two Supreme Court rulings kicked nearly 250 candidates off the ballot because of confusion about when and where to file financial documents. The documents often contain little information except for names, addresses and phone numbers.

Voters in northeast South Carolina also are gearing up for a surprise runoff in the Democratic race in the state’s new 7th congressional district. On Friday, a judge overturned the state Election Commission’s declaration of a winner and ordered the top two candidates to face off Tuesday.
