Charleston County School District switching to centralized student registration centers in North Charleston
Students who are new to North Charleston schools won’t be able to register at their neighborhood schools this summer. If they try, they will be turned away.
Instead, North Charleston students must go to one of two new student registration centers to enroll. The centers are designed to be one-stop shops for parents, and they have additional staff and services that typically wouldn’t be provided in neighborhood schools.
District officials are testing the centers to see how they work this summer, and the concept could spread to other areas of the district in the future.
The centers are at North Charleston High and Northwoods Middle, and they are open Monday through Thursday from 7:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.
