Body found near Highway 52 in Goose Creek; Investigated as a suicide

An unidentified man with a gunshot wound to the head was found Tuesday morning in a wooded area near the Alcoa plant off Highway 52, Berkeley County Coroner Bill Salisbury said.

Officials are investigating the death as a suicide.

The man was described as a white male in his mid twenties.

Anyone with information on the man’s identity should call the Berkeley County Coroner’s Office at 719-4566.
