Charleston skateboard park advancing, public meetings planned
Charleston County’s Park and Recreation Commission will hold public meetings later this summer on the new skate park project to be located near the intersection of Meeting and Huger streets downtown, close to where Interstate 26 meets the Ravenel Bridge,
The park is moving into the planning phase, officials said today in a news release.
Since November 2011, various governments have been working on the effort.
“This long-anticipated park is a ‘go,’ as it’s officially now a capital project,” the parks department stated.
It is expected to be at least a year before construction begins.
