CLEMSON — Clemson football continued its recruiting momentum Sunday as it received a commitment from four-star rated defensive end Elijah Daniel, according to multiple recruiting services.

Both Rivals.com and Scout.com rate the 6-3, 250-pound Avon, Ind. product as a four-star recruit.

Scout.com rates Daniel as the nation’s fourth best defensive end prospect. Daniel is rated as the 85th best overall prospect in the Class of 2013 according to ESPN.

From ESPN’s scouting report: “Daniel is a big and disruptive end. He has very good overall size and if as big as listed looks to carry his weight very well and his lengthy frame still looks to have room to fill out further. He displays very good quickness off the snap.”

Daniel’s commitment continued a strong week of recruiting for Clemson as the Tigers made national headlines Thursday by receiving a commitment from the nation’s No. 1 recruiting, five-star defensive end Robert Nkemdiche.

Clemson now has nine commitments in its 2013 class, including two consensus four-star recruits and one consensus five-star recruit.
