Karen White, author of “Sea Change,” will sign copies of her book at 1 p.m. Thursday at Blue Bicycle Books downtown and at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Mount Pleasant Barnes & Noble.

The University of Georgia Press has published the reference book “South Carolina Women: Their Lives and Times, Vol. 3,” edited by Marjorie Julian Spruill, Valinda W. Littlefield and Joan Marie Johnson.

The History Press has published “Civil Rights in South Carolina: From Peaceful Protests to Groundbreaking Rulings” by James L. Felder of Columbia.

The University of South Carolina Press has published “Save the Last Dance for Me: A Love Story of the Shag and the Society of Stranders” by Phil Sawyer and Tom Poland.

Former U.S. Ambassador Gregory Slayton has launched a charitable campaign to offer his latest fatherhood book, “Be a Better Dad Today,” free to any active-duty military man. Contact www.activeduty@beabetterdadtoday.com.

Bonnie Rawls Stanard, author of “Kedzie: Saint Helena Island Slave,” will sign copies of her book 2-4 p.m. June 24 at Indigo Books at Freshfields Village on Johns Island.
