First S.C.-made Boeing 787 returns with new paint job
The first South Carolina-built Boeing 787 returned to North Charleston Sunday after being painted in the colors of Air India.
The plane left the Boeing campus May 30 for Texas where it was painted in the South Asian national carrier’s red, white and gold color scheme.
It will undergo Air India’s battery of tests, including at least one more test flight, before being delivered by month’s end.
Air India bought the first Dreamliner wide-body jet assembled in South Carolina and recently worked out a deal with Boeing for an undisclosed sum to pay for more than three years of delivery delays.
