As most of you already know, we have a fantastic team of bloggers over here at Savvy Shopper who are constantly on the lookout for awesome deals we all can take advantage of. Some are Internet-based, and some are just cool free events, sales and deals they find along the way.

Here is just a snippet of what you will find on the blog every day. Be sure to check back regularly so you don't miss out.

Also email us at charlestonsavvyshopper@postandcourier.com if you see a deal you'd like to share. If you are a business that is having an awesome sale or has a product marked way down, let us know so we can help you spread the word.

We have tons of posts on the blog (postandcourier.com/savvyblog), so be sure to click through several pages to find the deals that work best for you.

Great deal on onions

Don't you just love it when you can get a great coupon for produce?

Vidalia has a 50-cent printable coupon if you “like” them on Facebook. You can print two, and they will double at most local grocery stores. The coupon is good for 5 pounds of bagged or loose onions. Most stores offer them for around 99 cents per pound, but earlier this week, Harris Teeter had the 5-pound bag for $3.99. After the coupon, your price is $2.99.

Cooking idea: Slice them, add salt, pepper and butter and wrap in foil. Throw it on the grill while you are cooking, and you have a perfect summer side!

For women

Here's a nice freebie that most women can use. Coupons.com has released a coupon for $2 off two packages of Kotex Natural Balance products. You can print two of these coupons. Use them at Target, Walmart or Dollar General this weekend to score four free packs of 16-count panty liners since all three stores have deals right now.

For your pets

Pet Helpers is having a free vaccination clinic 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 5 St. Theresa Drive in West Ashley. All dogs must be on leashes and all cats in carriers. They are also offering $15 microchips. No proof of previous vaccinations is required. Call 302-0556 for information.
