Today is your penultimate chance to catch “Broadway Babies.” This musical revue, presented by the Charleston Acting Studio’s Musical Theatre Performance Troupe, features selections from Broadway’s most family-friendly productions.
You can hear the best of “Oliver,” “Annie,” “Little Shop of Horrors,” “My Fair Lady” and “You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown.” The cast, made up of talented young musical theater enthusiasts, may encourage your kids to sing and dance as well.
For the artsier, more avant-garde teenager in your family, head on over to Jason Hacken-werth’s site-specific exhibition at the Redux Contemporary Art Center.
This installation, titled “The Tempest,” features plywood sculptures that fit together through tongue-in-groove construction then suspended from the ceiling.
The budding artist in your family will appreciate the experimental nature of this exhibit. Afterward, encourage your artist to design something similar and make it out of cardboard.
