The Broadway Dance Project Presents Chim-Chim-Cheree tells the whimsical tale of Mary Poppins. Much like the magical nanny, this production is here for but a brief moment. Today’s performance is your one and only chance to catch the great song and dance this classic musical has to offer. By the end of the hour-long production, you too will be humming “A Spoonful of Sugar” and singing “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.”
The cast includes members of the Broadway Dance Project as well as the Charleston Ballet Theatre. The BDP ensemble, featuring dancers between the ages of 9 and 17, is sure to inspire your young ones. Seeing someone their own age onstage proves to kids that they are never too young to pursue the arts. When you get home, pop in the 1964 Disney rendition and encourage your kids to sing along.
RECOMMENDATION: Broadway Dance Project Presents Chim-Chim-Cheree, 1:30 p.m. today, Charleston Music Hall, 37 John St.
