Skies clearing; some damage reports and power outages from Beyrl

Rain should be moving out of the Lowcountry, but some folks are still feeling Beryl’s after-effects.

“The showers are pretty much done with, but it’s going to be breezy. There’s a slight chance of thunderstorms this afternoon, but they’re rather limited,” Brett Cimbora, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service, said.

There have been more than 200 power outages reported in Summerville and North Charleston and more than 300 near Holly Hill. SCE&G expected to restore power by 9:30 a.m.

Skies will gradually become mostly sunny with a high near 86. Winds will be northeast between 13 and 18 mph. The chance of precipitation is 60 percent.
