GREENVILLE — Joey Tomko and Ryan Kinsella each homered to lead Elon to a 7-3 win over The Citadel on Friday at Fluor Field in Greenville, eliminating the Bulldogs from the Southern Conference Tournament and ending their season.

The Citadel (25-33) is not in position to earn an at-large berth in the NCAA Tournament.

Citadel starting pitcher Logan Cribb allowed a two-run Tomko home run over the 30-foot left-field wall in a three-run fourth inning and was touched up again in the fifth when Elon (33-25) added three more runs, including Kinsella’s homer.

Cribb was knocked out of the game in the fifth allowing five runs, four earned, and eight hits in 4 2/3 innings.

Elon’s David Whitehead pitched a complete game.
