Report: Bicycle in Mount Pleasant crash didnt have proper lighting
A bicyclist who was hurt in a crash late Thursday in Mount Pleasant didn’t have needed lights on his bike, according to a police report.
Marion Praleau Hill Jr., 47, of North Charleston suffered an injury that was not considered life-threatening. He was taken to Medical University Hospital, where his condition was not immediately known.
Hill was riding his bicycle near the center line of Frontage Road, which parallels Johnnie Dodds Boulevard, “without proper lighting,” a crash report from the Mount Pleasant Police Department said. A Hyundai driven by Joshua Michael Roberson, 25, of North Charleston collided with the bike about 11:43 p.m. near Shelmore Boulevard.
Hill was deemed to be at fault in the crash for lacking lights and riding on the wrong side of the traffic lane, according to the report.
Roberson was not injured.
