The Charleston County Public Library is offering the following free programs.

Take 5 Drawing: Checkout to Win (up to age 17). Through May 31. Check out five or more children’s or young adult books and enter a drawing to win a SpongeBob Magnadoodle, a T-shirt or another cool prize. Only one entry per day per child or teen.
PLAY: Family Movie Matinee: “Kung Fu Panda.” May 26 at 1 p.m. Laid-back Po must find his true self in order to become the Dragon Warrior. Rated PG; 88 minutes.

Play: Saturday Movies: “Born to Be Wild” (all ages). May 19 at 10:30 a.m. Documentary film narrated by Morgan Freeman. Rated G; 40 minutes.
Musical Babies: Kindermusik. May 30 at 11 a.m. Join a music program designed to be developmentally appropriate for children ages birth-18 months. Space is limited; call to register at 552-6466.

PLAY: Built for Fun. May 26 at 11 a.m. Drop in and build your own masterpiece with Legos, Clics and K’nex.

Piccolo Spoleto Children’s Festival on Marion Square (all ages): May 26 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Join the library to celebrate the kickoff to Piccolo Spoleto and Dream Big: Summer Reading Program.
Encore in HD from the Met to the Library: Verdi’s “La Traviata”: May 26 at 1 p.m. Runtime: 3 hours 7 minutes. Auditorium will open 90 minutes early, at which point seats may be reserved.
Robert Ivey Ballet Presents: “The Velveteen Rabbit” (all ages): May 29 at 9:15 and 10:30 a.m.
Backporch Storytellers: May 27 at 3 p.m. Enjoy stories and tales told by storytellers in the Lowcounty.
Piccolo Spoleto American Film Festival: May 29 at 1 p.m. “Citizen Kane,” starring Orson Welles and Joseph Cotton. PG; 119 minutes.
Piccolo Spoleto American Film Festival: May 30 at 1 p.m. “Raging Bull,” starring Robert DeNiro and Cathy Moriarty. Rated R; 129 minutes.
College of Charleston Opera: “Little Red Riding Hood”: May 31 at 9:15, 10:30 and 11:45 a.m. Enjoy a classic tale with a musical twist.
