Whitney Houston’s last recording released
Whitney Houston’s final recording is being released. The song, “Celebrate,” is a duet with Jordin Sparks from Houston’s last movie, a remake of the film “Sparkle.” The song debuted Monday on Ryan Seacrest’s website and will appear on iTunes June 5.

‘GMA’ to add an hour weekday afternoons
“Good Morning America” is reaching into the afternoon this summer. ABC announced Monday that a one-hour spinoff of the morning news show called “Good Afternoon America” will premiere July 9 at 2 p.m. It will air weekday afternoons for nine weeks.

Weekend ‘Today’ anchor jumps to ABC
Former Charleston broadcast journalist Amy Robach is leaving a high-profile job at NBC News to join rival ABC.

Her sudden departure was announced on Saturday’s “Today” show, but her next job was not discussed.

ABC said Robach will be a news correspondent based in New York City. She had been the co-anchor of the weekend edition of “Today” since 2007.

She has been with NBC for much of her career. Robach was fresh out of the University of Georgia when she took a job paying $22,000 at NBC’s local affiliate, Mount Pleasant-based WCBD-TV. She was a weekend anchor and general assignment reporter at Channel 2 from 1995 to 1999.

Tim McGraw signs with new record label
Country music superstar Tim McGraw has signed a multialbum deal with Scott Borchetta’s Big Machine Records, officially ending his acrimonious relationship with Curb Records. McGraw, 45, hopes he can regain some of the momentum he lost while fighting to end his “lifetime” contract with Curb Records.

Though the two sides remain locked in a legal dispute, a judge last year freed McGraw to begin recording for a new label. ---- McGraw said in an earlier interview with The Associated Press that he and Borchetta sealed the deal May 9 at the Greyhound bus station in Nashville, marking the anniversary of McGraw’s arrival in Music City with a guitar in one hand and a suitcase in the other. ---- “So 23 years after I arrived to town, I’m sort of in the kickoff phase of my new career,” McGraw said.
