Johanna Whitmer has joined SGA Architecture as an interior designer. She has more than three years of experience with commercial and hospitality projects. She has bachelor’s degrees in interior design and art history from Converse College.
Education
Cady Nell West has joined Charleston Southern University as executive director for external relations. Previously, she was with Interstate Management and Investment Corp. as director of sales for the Wingate by Wyndham at CSU. She has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of South Carolina.
Gardening
Tina Eagle has joined the sales staff of Hidden Ponds Nursery and Garden Center in Awendaw. She has a master gardener’s certificate from Clemson University. Previously, she was with Lowe’s.
Government
Marshall W. Evers has been named competence lead for the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center Atlantic Inspector General. Previously, he was with the Atlantic Region IG with the U.S. Army Installation Management Command at Joint Base Langley Eustis. He has a bachelor’s degree in sociology and social welfare from Bloomsburg University and a master’s degree from Webster University.
Grocery
John Gianakas has joined Charleston-based Piggly Wiggly Carolina Co. Inc. as vice president of center store sales. He has about 30 years of grocery retail experience. Most recently, he was vice president of center store category management at Bi-Lo LLC.
He has a bachelor’s degree in biology with a minor in chemistry from Rutgers University.
Nonprofit
Joe Elmore has been named chief executive officer of the Charleston Animal Society. He is responsible for the overall strategic and tactical direction of the society.
Previously, he was senior director of community initiatives with the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
He has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Alabama.
