Coroner identifies man shot to death in North Charleston
North Charleston police are investigating the shooting death of a 23-year-old man found shortly after midnight in the road near Purcell Drive and Old Ridge Road, said spokesman Spencer Pryor.
The Charleston County Coroner’s Office identified the man as Andre Manigault of North Charleston.
According to police, witnesses reported that a gold Ford Crown Victoria was seen speeding from the area after the shooting early Saturday. Police later stopped a car matching that description near Ashley Phosphate Road, and the driver was arrested and charged with driving under suspicion.
Police are trying to determine if the driver is linked to the shooting.
Another man was found shot in the leg in the Valleyview Lane area, Pryor said. He was taken to MUSC for treatment.
Police said no motive for the shootings has been determined.
