No. 3 South Carolina blanks Georgia, 3-0, in baseball

No. 3 USC 3, Georgia 0
Athens, Ga. — Senior left-hander Michael Roth hurled seven-plus scoreless innings and combined with relievers Tyler Webb and Matt Price for a five-hit shutout and No. 3 South Carolina blanked Georgia, 3-0, Friday at Foley Field.

South Carolina (38-12, 17-8 SEC) broke a scoreless tie in the seventh. LB Dantzler hit a two-out solo homer in the seventh, Evan Marzilli had an RBI single in the eighth and Sean Sullivan drove in a run with a sacrifice squeeze bunt in the ninth.

USC and Georgia (28-22, 12-13) play again at 1 p.m. today.

Marzilli and Dantzler were both 2 for 4 to pace the Gamecock offense.
