Charleston Southern falls to VMI, 6-5, in baseball

LEXINGTON, Va. — VMI got a two-out, two-run double from Matt Winn in the fifth inning and held on to beat Charleston Southern, 6-5, in baseball Friday.
The Buccaneers (18-30, 9-10 Big South) trailed 4-0 before rallying to score five runs in the top of the fifth, highlighted by Chase Shelton’s bases-loaded double to make it 5-4.
But VMI (15-32, 7-15) scored a pair of runs in the bottom of the inning to prevail. The two teams will play at 5 p.m. today.
