One person killed, one in critical condition after falling from overpass
A man was killed and a woman was critically injured after the motorcycle they were on struck the wall of an overpass and ejected them over the retaining wall, authorities said.
The man and woman were on the Crosstown ramp headed toward Interstate 26 when the motorcycle struck the wall, according to authorities. The driver of the motorcycle was attempting to pass a vehicle on the right side when it struck the wall, according to police on the scene.
The man died at the scene, and the woman was taken to the hospital in critical condition. Authorities have not released the identity of either person.
The Charleston Police Department is investigating the incident.
