Former Clemson standout DaQuan Bowers tears Achilles tendon
CLEMSON – Former Clemson star Da’Quan Bowers tore his Achilles tendon while participating in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ offseason workout program, the Buccaneers confirmed Thursday.
Bowers will have surgery Friday and will miss the entire 2012 season.
Bowers fell to the second round of the NFL Draft last year due to concerns over the health of his knee. Bowers was healthy in his rookie season, though he recorded just 1.5 sacks.
The Bamberg native recorded a nation best 15.5 sacks in 2010 at Clemson, playing the final seven games with a torn meniscus.
