Charleston Military Notes
Air Force Airman 1st Class Jericha L. Middleton graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.
The airman completed an intensive, eight-week training program. Middleton is a daughter of Robin Middleton of Wadmalaw Island.
She is a 2006 graduate of St. John’s High School, Johns Island. She earned a bachelor’s degree in 2010 from Francis Marion University.
Navy Seaman Apprentice Shekera Porchia, a 2011 graduate of West Ashley High School, recently completed Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill.
During the eight-week program, Porchia completed a variety of training that included classroom study and practical instruction.
Marine Corps Pvt. William W. Lage, son of Lindanne Thomas of Charleston and Allan W. Lage of Kissimmee, Fla., recently completed 12 weeks of basic training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, designed to challenge new Marine recruits both physically and mentally.
Marine Corps Pfc. John B. Black, son of Amy Black of Hollywood and Steve Black of Hollywood, recently completed 12 weeks of basic training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island.
Marine Corps Pvt. Ryan A. Hill, son of Caren Cook Hill of Ashburn, Va., and David V. Hill of Charleston, recently completed 12 weeks of basic training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island.
Navy Seaman Steven J. Coggins, son of Kelly A. Roark of Daytona Beach, Fla., and Joey W. Coggins, of Charleston, recently completed Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill.
