2217 Doris Drive Snug rental home off S.C. Highway 61 promotes refinished layout, proximity to water

The first perk that owner-agent Kitty Power Duncan highlights about her Paradise Acres house up for lease is it’s “one block from the boat landing.”
To be sure, Pierpont Public Boat Landing — where boaters can launch into Church Creek and connect to the Ashley River — is a block away.
Still, 2217 Doris Drive has a host of other features that make it appealing as a rental, says Duncan, a broker associate with Coastalina Realty of Charleston.
Paradise Acres is a small subdivision next to the Pierpont neighborhood west of the Ashley. The one-story 1,140-square foot house showcases a good-sized front lawn and a big, fenced-in backyard on a one-third acre lot.
“The inside has been completely remodeled,” Duncan says. “It’s got (new) hardwood floors in the living area and the hallway,” she says, and tile floors are in the kitchen, foyer, dining room and bathroom.
The house is for rent for $1,100 a month with a year’s lease.
There are three bedrooms and a full bath. The kitchen has an island that can double as a place to eat, she says.
Highlighted by an expansive floor plan, the house has family and dining rooms that open into the kitchen. A built-in microwave, range, refrigerator, dishwasher and white cabinets mark the cooking area. There an island with sink that makes it possible to eat at the countertops, she says.
Vaulted ceilings, built-in cabinets and chair rail accentuate the family room, hall and dining area, Duncan says.
The house has a full front porch and a detached, one-and-a-half car garage. Duncan says the house is convenient to shopping and to Interstate 526. Tenants could commute to Roper St. Francis hospital off Glenn McConnell Parkway and the Boeing plant in North Charleston.
Duncan sees the house as a good fit for a young professional.
“It’s an inside corner lot on a U-shaped street,” she says.

The house is close to S.C. Highway 61. From the Ashley River Bridge, stay right on Highway 61 (St. Andrews Boulevard). Cross Sam Rittenberg Boulevard and continue straight on Ashley River Road, bypassing the parkway. Proceed two-and-a-half miles and make a right on Parsonage Road. The first right is Doris Drive. Ahead is 2217 Doris Drive.
