Kieboom leads Clemson to victory at Georgia Tech
Spencer Kieboom had a career-high five RBIs Saturday to lead Clemson to a 13-7 win at Georgia Tech and help coach Jack Leggett to a win in his 1,900th game as a head coach. The teams will play a series-deciding game Sunday as Clemson looks to win its fifth ACC series in its last six attempts.
Clemson had 17hits as a team Saturday, including a grand slam by Kieboom that helped Clemson toa 10-2 lead in thefith. Phil Pohl also homered for Clemson.
Clemson improves to 25-19 overall and 13-10 in the ACC. The Yellow Jackets fell to 26-18 overall and 10-13 in ACC play.
Mike Kent pitched the final five innings and allowed just one run.
The win was Leggett’s 1,214th, moving into a tie for 14th place with Richard Jones.
