Teen Poetry Contest (ages 11-17): Through April 30. Write your best original poem and enter to win an awesome prize. The entry box is located on the teen display. Only one entry per per- son.
Homeschoolers Unite: (All ages): 2 p.m. April 26. This year marks a century since the Titanic sank. Join Mr. Zack for interesting facts and activities about this tragic event in American history.
Aerobics Dance Class (adults): 10 a.m. April 28. Sasha Vargas-Fimiani of the Charleston County Consolidated Dispatch Center will teach a fun dance aerobic class featuring music from around the world. Bring a water bottle and towel and wear comfortable shoes.
PLAY with Dad: Lego Extravaganza (all ages) 2 p.m. April 28. Create the structure of your dreams using Legos.
Great Decisions: (Adults) 6:30-7:30 p.m. April 30. Attend the fifth meeting of the Great Decisions program and discuss the topic “Exit from Afghanistan and Iraq.” For more information, call the Reference Desk at 849-6161.

Planting Flowers and Trees in the Magic Garden: (All ages): 10:30 a.m.-1 p.m. April 28. Celebrate Earth Day and Arbor Day by helping to plant flowers and trees in the library’s magic garden. Bring perennials, annual plants, wild flower seeds or a tree you would like to watch grow. Coffee and doughnuts will be provided.

Early Literacy Station (all ages): Through April 30. Visit the Early Literacy Station for a fun activity based on the South Carolina Day-by-Day Family Literacy Activity Calendar. The theme for April is “reading.” Enter for a chance to win an S.C. Day-by-Day Calendar. A winner will be drawn on April 30.
Saul Alexander Gallery Exhibit: Through April 30. Melissa Gravano has titled her pen, pencil and watercolor exhibit “Low Country Faces/Low Country Livin.”

Met Opera: “Manon”: 12:30 p.m. April 28. Runtime: 4 hours. Auditorium will open 90 minutes early, at which point seats may be reserved.
