FLORENCE – The patriotic nonprofit known as Celebrate Freedom Foundation is joining forces with Army recruiters to help bolster science and math lessons for students at two South Carolina high schools.

Army recruiting spokeswoman Leslie Ann Sully said the foundation is using an Army helicopter at West Florence High School in Florence today.

Sully said the foundation is handing out lesson plans to help instruct students in science, technology, engineering and mathematics and using the helicopter to discuss the mechanics of flight.

The foundation supports courses in high school and middle schools in South Carolina to help students learn skills for the work place.

Sully said the program also will make a stop Friday at Dillon High School.
