Janelle Riolo, a local artist and Elise Testone's college roommate, painted the Folly boat encouraging passers by to watch ""American Idol"" and vote for Testone.

Charleston music teacher Elise Testone, 28, fell into the bottom three again on Thursday night’s episode of “American Idol” — much to the astonishment of the judges — yet moved on to sing another week.

Testone’s Wednesday night performance was lauded by both Steven Tyler (“You do a song and turn it into genius.”) and Jennifer Lopez (“Nobody can sing like you do.”) but she barely survived the nationwide vote.

“I gave it my all and that’s all I can do,” said Testone.

Testone, who teaches at Music Unlimited in Mount Pleasant, is the daughter of New Jersey residents LuAnne and Victor Testone.
