Cainhoy fire poses no threat

Reports are coming in of a large cloud of smoke in the Cainhoy area. But the South Carolina Forestry Commission says not to worry, the smoke is from a controlled burn.

A company is conducting the burn on about 230 acres south of Clements Ferry Road, said Scott Hawkins, a spokesman for the forestry commission.

The burn is done to prevent future wildfires, Hawkins said.
