CLEMSON - Clemson running back Andre Ellington had surgery to remove scar tissue from his ankle on Thursday. The Berkeley High product will miss Saturday’s spring game but is expected to be healthy for summer practice.

The surgery removed scar tissue from his ankle which had formed after Ellington sustained an ankle sprain. Clemson said the surgery had been planned.

Ellington has missed time due to injury in each of the last two seasons.

Ellington is coming off a season in which he ran for 1,178 yards.
