James Island incorporation meeting Thursday night

“Free James Island” is holding a public meeting Thursday from 7 p.m. to 8:30

p.m. at the Department of Natural Resources Auditorium at Fort Johnson to discuss the upcoming referendum on incorporating the town again.

The community will go for a fourth attempt on April 24.

Former mayor Bill Woolsey said advocates will be on hand to provide information and

answer questions.
A a representative from the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office and the James Island Public Service District will be on hand.

State Rep. Peter McCoy, R-James Island, and other elected leaders are expected to speak.
