Bank of South Carolina CEO Hugh Lane retires, remains as chairman
Bank of South Carolina founder Hugh C. Lane Jr. is retiring as president and chief executive officer of the Charleston-based lender.
Fleetwood S, Hassell, who had been executive vice president and senior lending officer, was named president and CEO effective today. Douglas H. Sass was promoted to succeed Hassell.
Lane will remain as chairman of the board of directors for the bank and its holding company. He also will continue to do commercial lending and business development for the bank.
The management changes were announced at The Bank of South Carolina Corp.’s annual meeting of shareholders held Tuesday.
The lender marked its 25th anniversary in February.
