Martha S. Cole and James “Jimmy” B. Waring Jr. have joined The Bank of South Carolina’s mortgage department. Cole is a senior mortgage lender based in the downtown Charleston office. She has more than 30 years of banking experience. Previously she was with First Federal of Charleston. She has a degree in economics from the College of Charleston. Waring is a mortgage lender in the Summerville office. He has more than 20 years and previously was a loan officer with Regions Bank. He has a bachelor’s degree from Charleston Southern University.
Defense
Kelly Baldwin has been promoted to director of BAE Systems’ C5ISR Electronics & Infrastructure Solutions unit. He has a bachelor’s degree from Southern Illinois University. He has master’s degrees in management and computer resource and information management from Webster University.
Law
G.P. Diminich has joined Smith Moore Leatherwood LLP as a partner in the firm’s Charleston office. Previously, he was with Clawson & Staubes. He has a bachelor’s degree from Davidson College and a law degree and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of South Carolina’s School of Law and USC’s Moore School of Business. He also has a master’s degree in taxation from the New York University School of Law and is a certified specialist in taxation, estate planning and probate law.
Marketing
Natalie Staropoli has been named partner and chief operations officer of Markit Group, based in the Florida-based firm’s new Charleston office. Previously, she was business development director for Restoration Hardware’s contract division. She has a bachelor’s degree in marketing from the University of South Carolina.
Pool services
Justin Ross and Paul Genua have joined Aqua Blue Pools. Ross is service manager. Genua is in the company’s commercial sales and construction division.
Real estate
Jeff Irvine has joined Mount Pleasant-based Grubb & Ellis|WRS as an associate specializing in leasing and brokerage of retail investment commercial real estate. He has more than 20 years of business experience, including investment real estate sales, Fortune 500 consulting work, and sales management for a construction products company. He has a bachelor’s degree from the College of Charleston and a master’s degree in business administration from Georgia State University’s Robinson School of Business.
Douglas C. “Doug” Rock has been named operations manager for Carolina One Real Estate’s property management division. He has more than 16 years of experience in property management.
Technology
Josh Garwood, Lillian Rudacille, Ben Leigh, Maggie Hall and Jeanne Motha have joined Charleston-based SPARC. Garwood is net developer. Rudacille and Leigh are energy analysts. Hall is a user interface engineer. Motha is a database administrator.
Utility
Bill Turner and Danny Kassis have been promoted at South Carolina Electric & Gas Co. Turner is vice president of electric operations. Previously, he was general manager for electric operations in the Charleston area. Kassis is vice president of customer service. Previously, he was general manager of electric service coordination.
