Coroner identifies man shot to death; case is ruled homicide
SUMMERVILLE — The Dorchester County Coroner’s office identified a man found dead in his home at 107 Hope Drive Friday as Johnny Young Jr., 38. The case has been ruled a homicide.
The Sheriff’s Office did not respond Saturday to a request for an update on the case.
Coroner Chris Nesbit said Saturday that Young was hit by three gunshot wounds.
Young’s body was found Friday morning. A window in a back door had been broken, but officials wouldn’t confirm whether the rental home had been burglarized before the killing.
A family member had called 911 reporting the man had suffered stab wounds and wasn’t breathing.
