Byrd advances but three other golfers with Clemson ties miss cut at Masters
CLEMSON - Former Clemson golfer Jonathan Byrd made the cut at the Masters, shooting a one-under 71 Friday to give him a two-day score of 143.
This is the second time Byrd has made the cut at the Masters. In 2003 in his first year in the tournament he also made the cut when he finished eighth with an even par 288 score.
Byrd tied with Padrig Harrington as co-champions of the par three contest on Wednesday. No winner of the par three contest has ever gone on to win the Masters.
Clemson golfer Corbin Mills competing as an amateur missed the cut, finishing with a 155 total (74-81) for his two rounds. Former Clemson golfers Kyle Stanley (151) and Lucas Glover (154) also missed the cut.
