Georgia woman feted as the millionth fan at FCC
Lisa Ha of Smyrna, Ga. was the 1,000,000th fan to walk through the gates of the Family Circle Cup tournament this morning.
“I had no idea,” she said. “I came through and they told me to get out of line. I thought I was in the wrong line. Then I saw balloons and a big check.
The $5,000 check was for various items from the Family Circle Cup, ranging from tickets, concessions, parking and souvenirs.
The Family Circle Cup is celebrating its 40th year and was held in Hilton Head from 1973-1999. The tournament moved the Charleston in 2000.
