Vartika Vikram wins finalist spot in Charleston Fashion Week

Day 3 of Charleston Fashion Week got off to a shaking start as Jasmine Beck of The Cocktail Club served up her Antipasto Cocktail, the Grey Goose vodka winner of Charleston's Top Cocktail, during the pre-party in the Style Lounge.

Thursday's featured stores were Copper Penny & Copper Penny Shooz and V2V, both located on King Street. Copper Penny offered up some vibrant ensembles and some sky-high heels and wedges. V2V showed an amazingly diverse collection of dresses that elicited a lot of applause.

After a break, Emerging Designer semifinalists Nancy Faw Crowell, Vartika Vikram, Jordan Lee Brooks, Kelly Elizabeth Ruehlman & Amy Cochran Quinn and Hazel Bae competed for the finalist spot in Saturday's finale.

The People's Choice winner of the evening was Crowell, whose vintage style, circus-themed kids' clothes had amazing colors and detail.

The finalist spot in the Emerging Designer competition went to Vikram. Her elegant clothing was a beautiful mix of crisp, clean lines, soft, airy pieces, muted colors and amazing structural detail.

The featured designer was a special collaborative show featuring Sarah Parrott, Luciana Scarabello and Nikki Poulos from NBC's "Fashion Star" series, which boasts Elle Macpherson as host and Nicole Richie, Jessica Simpson and John Varvatos as "mentors."

Offering three different styles, all were winners in their own right. With a mix of exposed zippers and sheer panels, and sticking to black and gray, the first set of designs was clean and structured.

Next came mixed patterns and bright prints with button detail; a big crowd favorite. Last was a line that included pieces accented with leather trim.
